Art On Slate

 I started using Slate as a surface for painting some of the seascapes lansdapes and loved this Art on Slate as the oil paint

really attached extremely well.  I have painted many different scenes and when this work is mounted or framed it emits a real sculptural

feel.  I have made a collection to this Art on Slate of abstract work based on forest and rain themes.

The slate has been very compatible with being sculpted to marry in with some landscape s that are shaped with mountains and the edges of the ocean and rivers.  Also with unusual rock formations t has been very tactile.

Overall the Art on Slate is a luscious surface for oil painting and it will have a great space in my Art as I progress to line representation. I am

also hoping to incorporate the Art on Slate theme into planned sculptural work.
